that flew out of the holly bushes
surrounding the deck

Those little guys are gorgeous and so are your photos. Great, great shots one and all.

Thank you JJ...always a pleasure to see you!
DeleteThese are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWonderful quality photo work.
And I like your parting shot :-)
Welcome Hannah....thank you!
DeleteThese have got to be the cutest guys ever....such wonderful photographs....
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to see one with my own eyes, and now I finally have! Thanks for stopping in, Nancy!
DeleteWhat wonderful photos of cedar wax wings. Love the first one with bokeh in the background and birds perched sleek and elegant on branches, but the Don King reference made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw that one on my computer screen, I had to chuckle! Thanks, Teresa!
DeleteGreat shots of these gorgeous birds! I was once surprised in a similar manner by a small flock passing through, but was not able to get any decent photos.
ReplyDeleteI had hoped to get a couple of shots of them flying back and forth into the bushes, but they were way too quick!
Deletethese are fantastic shots, really well captured
ReplyDeleteThank you Justine!
DeleteOh these are wonderful shots - what a lovely looking bird.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ellie...they definitely are a striking bird, but smaller than I had imagined!
DeleteYou are ridiculously talented, J.G...
ReplyDeleteONE bird is enough to give me photographic fits!
So impressive!
:)
Look who's talking! ;-)
DeleteBut, I'll accept that compliment with honor! :-)
You're so talented!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Vita and thank you!
DeleteThey are amazing birds, you're so lucky to live somewhere like that! Great processing too.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, they only migrate through, but I'm still happy with that!
DeleteAren't they gorgeous! I love their markings, making them 'masked bandits'! Too cool =)
ReplyDeleteOoh...I love your animated avatar! I need to do a little research, but if you noticed, some of them have a little red dot on their wing (that is not a photoshop addition) and i wonder if it is only because I couldn't see it on all of them, or if it's a marking of a male.
DeleteOh wow! I can't believe that you've captured all of these images! They are so beautiful...I LOVE cedar waxwings, but I rarely see them. Sometimes they visit the juniper shrub I prevented my husband from tearing out with the other overgrown junipers. I wanted to save one just in case the cedar waxwings decided to stop by. Again...I'm amazed at the wonderful images you've captured during this brief visit!
ReplyDeleteThey obviously only go for the berries because we have stocked feeders and they weren't even interested!
DeleteWhat a beautiful bird. You did a fabulous job capturing them too!!
ReplyDeleteHugs
SueAnn
Yes, they are SueAnn I feel lucky to have seen them!
DeleteWhat beautiful birds! Wow, how lucky you were to capture them in your yard...thanks so much for sharing your images! I've never seen these birds in Virginia.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherri...welcome! I think they might have continued on their travels, so be on the lookout!
DeleteWow, these are so beautiful. I've never seen them before so I guess they aren't indigenous to where I live. Gorgeous colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy...it was definitely a treat to see them!
DeleteJill, these photographs are absolutely gorgeous, and how lucky you were to be able to capture all 4 of them together.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope they will be flying north to NY!!
Thank you so much for sharing with us today at The Creative Exchange.
Have a wonderful evening!
lisa.
I think that might be one of their destinations! :-)
DeleteBeautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
Thank you TP!
DeleteAren't they amazing? They've been here in Missouri lately, too. Love your shot of the 2 of them!
ReplyDeleteThanks Connie....I didn't see them today, so they've probably moved on!
DeleteWow - such beautiful visitors! Lovely shots - glad you were able to snap them!
ReplyDeleteIt was certainly a treat!
DeleteOur Mulberry Tree was full of the Cedar Waxwings this morning. They always look so clean. You captures some amazing shots. Well done. V
ReplyDeleteThey must be migrating in flocks now. So glad you got to enjoy them as well! Thanks for stopping by and saying hi!
DeleteAahhhhh....perfection!
ReplyDeleteWelcome and thank you!!
DeleteI love all your photos and the processing. For someone who doesn't really like birds, you have made me a bird photo lover for sure. I'm sending you an email of what I did with one of the photos.
ReplyDeletexxdi
That warms my heart...thank you Di!!
DeleteBeautiful captures, Jillsy. I'd never seen more than one Cedar waxwing at a time.. and rarely at that. Until yesterday, that is. While walking, we looked up to see a flock of them in the tree above us. Wrong lens, of course. ;) I'm happy to see yours.
ReplyDeleteIt must be migration time and they're stickin' together! You get to have them all summer!
DeleteGreat shots! We've had a flock swoop in the past two mornings but swoop back out before I can get my camera. I've really missed them. I think they're my favorites!
ReplyDeleteYour Don King” wannabe cracked me up, and all of your bird shot blew my mind. You must have thought you were in Heaven. Your captures are awesome, and the birds themselves are beautiful. Maybe one of these days I will lawn to take shots of birds that look as fine as yours. genie
